10 Ideas, Books and Resources to Teach Kids About Money – via CarrotsAreOrange Blog
MeMe-It-Forward has been so much fun that we are making it a regular feature! Every week, we will share and feature one blog with a collage of some awesome posts from the blog. If you think YOUR BLOG has a wonderful set of posts that fit into a theme that parents would find valuable, email us ( at maya at memetales dot com) and we would add you in our feature calendar!
Today, our feature blog on MeMe-it-Forward is Carrots Are Orange blog, authored by Marnie.
Marnie inspires me at many levels – she is a patient mom with 2 little boys. She is am amazingly nice person. She is a montessori mom (like myself!) and I discover some wonderful resources via her blog. And like most moms we have featured here, she has many degrees and years and years of experience working outside the home. Most of all, I find Marnie’s approach to growing a child’s “whole self” really inspiring. Here is what she says -
I believe children are capable of great things. Parents, educators and caretakers can help children most by creating an environment in which they can thrive independently and drive their own learning. I believe in developing a child’s “whole self” including intellectual development but also emotional and practical life development. Creating and building healthy habits early in a child’s life is powerful.
In addition, she says -
With a BA in Economics, a graduate degree in business and nearly a decade of professional experience in finance and investment management, a big passion lies in teaching kids how to be responsible with money. I am currently pursuing Montessori certification in early childhood.
And so, we think it is absolutely fitting to share with you a collage of posts about kids and financial literacy.
These are some truly great ideas, take your time and enjoy!
