Valentine’s Day Heart Bag

by Rashi on February 5, 2011

The month of February is all about celebrating Valentine’s Day by giving flowers, candy and cards to those we love.  This time, we made a “Heart Bag” which is a perfect way to store all your Valentine’s gifts or just use to carry it on Valentine’s Day.

What you’ll need : Two Colored Construction Paper, Glue, Scissor, Glitter Glue, Marker, Holographic sheet.

Step 1: Fold the colored construction paper in half and then cut the folded  paper to form long rectangles.

Step 2: Cut along the sides to give an oval shape to the colored construction paper for each side of the bag, and then mark the  lines equally to cut it.

Step 3: Start weaving strips one  to another for each side of the bag until the row is finished.

Step 4: Cut a strip of paper to make a handle for the bag.

Step 5: Cut some small hearts on a holographic sheet and stick it for decoration. You can use glitter glue for extra decoration.

This a cute Valentine’s day carry on for your kids!!

There is a complicated version of this craft around on the internet (Family Fun version) but we simplified it greatly so that little ones can have fun with it. It turned out great, don’t you think?
