Love this idea! It’s brilliant. I actually wrote about it on my blog. Hope that’s cool. Feel free to stop by and check out my post.http://literacylaunchpad.blogspot.com/
I think this is a fantastic idea and I am excited to have found it early on in the process.Have a wonderful day!Rainya
If what you’re saying is true, that illustrators and writers can be linked together to create in a simpler fashion, then Im all for it! Ive been working in the design field for over 10+ years and Im very passionate about illustration, especially to children. But I dont know the first thing about getting a book together! Sounds like this idea could cut out all of the guess work so we can truly collaborate on our passions together! Im more interested in sending out positive messages to children, than making a dime anyways! But it doesnt hurt! Im really inspired to illustrate/write for Christian children’s books. Can you help link me with author with same interests? How does that work? How can I get started????THANKS!
I love this idea! I am a teacher of Literacy and I am also a stay at home mom (I teach college in the evenings). When I was a child, my mom/aunts/sisters and I used to create stories and homemade books all the time. In fact, I still have the old tattered books. My son is still too small to create and publish a book but I look forward to repeating this process with him when he is ready. As a third grade teacher, my students would create some beautiful stories. It was always my intention to try to get the occasional GREAT story published somehow. But like you said, the opportunities that exist are complicated and involve a lot of waiting and hoping. As a classroom teacher, this proved frustrating because there is only so much time and energy to devote to these pursuits. Your idea sounds like it will make this process of publication more accessible to writers (hopefully of all ages). I also work with adult students who are working to earn their bachelor’s degrees in Education. One of our course assignments is to publish a literacy memoir in which the students participate in the writing process in order to complete a children’s book which gives an account of their own experiences as a growing reader and writer. Your idea got me thinking more about multimedia representations of literature. Now my wheels are spinning. Thanks for the inspiration. Good Luck to you! – Heather Summers (Chicago, IL)
